I was commissioned to do an art show with 1920's flapper hats for a production of The Great Gatsby.  This experience was either going to be the beginning of the end of my quilling career.  Quilling is a slow process that is extremely involved and time consuming.  A typical quilled hat takes me 60-90 hours to complete.  After finishing 10 pieces, approximately 600-900 hours, I fell in love with quilling. I currently have one of my hats on display in the Kentucky Derby Museum through the 2020 Kentucky Derby.
